1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Zone of Truth (“Zone of Truth”, “we”, “us”) governing your access to and use of the Zone of Truth service. By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy, each incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The current version of these Terms is 2026-07-07.
2. The service
Zone of Truth is an AI-moderated customer-discovery tool. It lets founders, startups, and businesses design and run structured research interviews that an AI conducts with their respondents, and it organizes the resulting transcripts and insights. The service is intended for legitimate product, market, and customer-discovery research only, as further described in the Acceptable Use Policy.
Zone of Truth is currently an invite-only beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the service is provided without any guarantee of continued availability.
3. Eligibility
To create or use an account, you must:
- have received and accepted an invitation to the beta;
- be at least 18 years old;
- if you use the service on behalf of an organization, have authority to bind that organization to these Terms — in which case “you” means that organization; and
- be permitted to use the service under the laws of your country and not be located in a jurisdiction subject to sanctions that would prohibit us from providing it.
4. Accounts and authentication
We use passwordless magic-link authentication: you sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@zoneoftruth.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which defines the permitted scope of research and a list of prohibited uses. Breach of the Acceptable Use Policy is a breach of these Terms.
6. Respondent data, roles, and consent
When you use Zone of Truth to interview respondents and collect their personal data, you act as the data controller for that data and Zone of Truthacts as your data processor, processing it on your documented instructions. You are responsible for establishing a lawful basis for your research, for providing respondents with the required privacy information, and for obtaining any consent needed.
You must ensure that respondents are clearly told, before or at the start of an interview, that they are interacting with an artificial-intelligence system and not a human. This reflects the transparency obligations for AI systems that interact with people (EU AI Act, Article 50). You may not disable, obscure, or misrepresent this disclosure.
Where required, the processing of respondent data is also governed by a data processing agreement (DPA) between you and Zone of Truth, incorporating the terms required by Article 28 GDPR, which we make available on request.
7. Intellectual property
Zone of Truth and its underlying software, models, designs, and brand are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription for its intended purpose.
As between you and us, you retain ownership of the research content you create (your questions, study configurations) and of the respondent data you collect. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, and display that content in order to provide the service.
8. Fees and credits
Paid use of the service operates on prepaid credits, which are consumed as you run interviews and use AI features. Credits are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law (for example, mandatory EU consumer-protection rights). Prices, credit rates, and included allowances may change with notice.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AI-generated questions, summaries, and insights may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased; you are responsible for reviewing them before relying on them. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zone of Truth will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the total amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Zone of Truth harmless from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your research content, your handling of respondent data, or your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required to protect respondents, other users, or the service, or if required by law. We use automated abuse-detection, including AI-based review, to flag interviews that appear to violate our policies, and we may suspend affected activity while we investigate. You may stop using the service at any time; certain provisions (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of Poland, and disputes will be subject to the courts of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Each version is dated and identified by a version stamp (the current version is 2026-07-07). For material changes we will provide notice, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we may require you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the service.
