1. Purpose and scope of the service
Zone of Truth exists for one purpose: legitimate product, market, and customer-discovery research for new products, startups, and businesses. You may use the AI interviewer to understand customer problems, test demand, gather feedback on products and prototypes, and learn from real conversations with willing respondents.
Any use outside this scope is not permitted. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses Zone of Truth, and it is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Breaking this policy is a breach of those Terms.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use Zone of Truth, and must not configure or run any interview, to:
- deceive, defraud, phish, or socially engineer respondents, or misrepresent who is running the research or why;
- collect sensitive or special-category personal data — including data on health, biometric or genetic characteristics, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life or sexual orientation, or precise geolocation — without an explicit, documented lawful basis and appropriate safeguards;
- interview, target, or knowingly collect personal data from minors under 16 years of age (the digital-consent age set by Poland under GDPR Article 8);
- harass, intimidate, threaten, demean, or psychologically manipulate respondents, or subject them to hateful or discriminatory content;
- conduct political campaigning, electioneering, disinformation, propaganda, or opinion-manipulation research;
- gather competitive intelligence or conduct corporate espionage obtained under false pretext, impersonation, or by inducing respondents to breach confidentiality obligations;
- run scams, pyramid or multi-level-marketing schemes, or deceptive marketing, lead-generation, or sales disguised as research;
- extract credentials, passwords, one-time codes, payment-card or financial-account data, or government-issued identification numbers;
- carry out any activity that violates applicable law or infringes the privacy, intellectual property, or other rights of any third party;
- attempt to jailbreak, prompt-inject, reverse-engineer, probe, or otherwise misuse the AI or the service, or circumvent its safety and abuse controls; or
- use the service, its outputs, or respondent data to train, fine-tune, or build a competing AI model, dataset, or product.
3. Your responsibilities as a researcher
You are responsible for the lawfulness of your research. Respondents must be told clearly that they are talking to an AI, must take part voluntarily, and must be given the privacy information they are entitled to. Only collect data that is relevant and necessary for your research purpose.
4. Enforcement
We monitor the service for abuse. We may use automated, AI-based detection to flag interviews and accounts that appear to violate this policy, and we may review flagged activity. Where we find, or reasonably suspect, a violation we may remove content, throttle, suspend, or terminate access without notice, and we may report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities. We may also cooperate with law-enforcement requests as required by law.
5. Report abuse
If you believe someone is misusing Zone of Truth, or if you are a respondent with a concern about an interview, please report it to contact@zoneoftruth.com. We take reports seriously and will investigate.
